About Well Stockd
Well Stockd is a kitchen inventory app. You record what is in your fridge, freezer and pantry, and it shows what you can cook right now from what you already own, ranks food by how soon it will spoil, and builds a shopping list containing only what you are actually missing.
Why it exists
Most recipe apps start from what you feel like eating and then send you shopping. That is backwards for the problem most households actually have, which is food they already bought going off in the back of the fridge. Well Stockd starts from the kitchen you already have and works forwards: what is in here, what needs eating first, and what can I make out of it tonight.
The whole product follows from that inversion. Recipe availability is computed against your real inventory rather than a wish list. The planner reads from stock. The shopping list is a gap list. And items are ranked fresh-first, so the thing closest to spoiling is the thing you are shown first.
Who builds it
Well Stockd is built and operated independently in the United States. It is not owned by a grocery chain, a meal-kit company or a recipe publisher, and it takes no outside investment. That matters for a food app: nothing here is steering you towards a particular retailer or brand, because nobody is paying for that placement.
The app carries no advertising. It is funded entirely by Pro subscriptions, which is the only reason the free tier can stay genuinely useful rather than a trial in disguise.

No. Nothing reads your grocery or bank logins. Inventory comes from what you enter, by typing or by reading items aloud, plus one-tap put-away after a Walmart order.

The refrigerated storage windows come from USDA FoodKeeper and USDA FSIS guidance. They are planning estimates rather than safety guarantees, because no app can know how a specific item was handled before it reached your fridge.
